about me

Find out who I am and what I do

My name is Adam McMillan and I am a senior at the University of Georgia in Athens set to graduate this May with a Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunication Arts and New Media with a minor in Religion.

I am currently a web programming intern at a growing full service public relations and creative design company in Athens, Georgia called Sliced Bread Co. My work there involves coding websites and online applications using HTML, CSS, PHP, and MySQL.

I am also the Production Coordinator LDP at Athens Church, a North Point Ministries Strategic Partner. I help coordinate all areas of production in the Service Programming Department and produce irrestible environments where people can grow in their relationship with God.

I love all things Apple, good Japanese food, and extensive hours of sleep. Plus, I'm a giant movie buff (just ask my girlfriend).

My Services

For the past five years I have been designing and developing websites and other new media projects for small businesses, organizations, and ministries. I've been fortunate enough to develop over 20 complete working websites from the ground up and continue to employ new techniques as trends in web design continue to progress.

» My Design Philosophy

As the Internet continues to become increasingly populated with a myriad of websites, both professional and amateur, it is imperative that organizations take their web presence seriously and devote immense time and effort in establishing high-quality, interactive online resources for the world to see. I design websites with functionality in mind, allowing universal accessibility for all users. For this reasons, all of my new sites feature CSS-based tableless design, server-side scripting, and validated HTML and CSS making my client's projects both simple, easy, and cutting edge all at the same time.

» Content Management System

I've also realized that every client has a big picture vision to keep their websites as fresh and updated as possible. Unforunately, not everyone has the time to study and learn the basics of web design, HTML, CSS, PHP, or any of those confusing letters. That's why I've been working as diligently as possible to create solutions for my clients to allow them to login from anywhere in the world and update their website, knowing nothing but how to navigate the internet and enter text. I acheive this method, known as a Content Management System (CMS), based on a client's needs whether it be through Joomla, Wordpress, or a custom CMS. This flexibility allows clients to keep their websites updated with the latest textual content and news without the headache of going through multiple steps to see it happen. It also helps me in preserving the design integrity of the sites that I spend so much time creating.
